Policies

Illness Policy

All parents must notify us of any medication that has been administered to your child within the last 24 hours. In case of a medical emergency we must report whether the child is on medication. All parents must complete an Authorization to Administer Medication Form for all prescriptive and non-prescriptive medications that need to be administered at the daycare. Parents will be contacted immediately should your child become sick or injured. Sick children will be isolated from other children and made as comfortable as possible. Children will be required to be picked up within minutes by the authorized parents named on the enrollment form.

Children who are exhibiting the following symptoms will be sent home or should remain at home:

  • Fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher

  • Vomiting, diarrhea or severe nausea (within a 24 hour period)

  • Rashes or patches of broken skin

  • Non-stop coughs and lethargic.

A child who has or had a communicable disease under HFS 145 may not be admitted to certified child care unless the child’s parent provides a statement from a physician that the child’s condition is no longer contagious or the child has been absent for a period of time equal to the longest incubation period for the disease as specified by the Department of Health Services. We will report all communicable diseases to the local public health officer and to parents of all enrolled children.

Absences and Sicknesses

Absences are the responsibility of the parents and no refunds will be issued once payment has been made.

If absences occur due to planned vacation, parents must notify the provider at least two weeks in advance of their vacation date. If vacation is not notified 2 weeks in advance, parents will be charged the full regular fees on all their vacation weeks.

Payments for child absence/vacation per year:

  • Total weeks of vacation without fees per year: 1 week

  • Total weeks of vacation with HALF of regular fees per year: 3 weeks

  • Any other vacations or extended vacations taken in the year: Full fees apply

Please note that absences due to COVID, will not be charged as vacation. Vacation policies are different.

We will not be able to hold your child’s spot if payments are not made during family vacations or child absences. Please note, payments are NOT based on your child’s attendance but to hold your child’s space in our daycare.
